Susan Kroll-Smith
Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Susan has been practicing out-patient psychotherapy since 1987 after earning a Masters of Social Work from Bryn Mawr College. Her first career, Wellness Nursing, greatly influences her current practice appreciating the relationship between body, mind and spirit. Susan works with a wide variety of client issue such as depression and anxiety, trauma, addiction in the family and other relationship struggles and trouble with food.
Much of the work Susan does involves working with clients to improve their relationship with themselves. Troubles in life may be caused or worsened by the way we think, talk and treat ourselves. Because this internal relationship with ourselves is learned during childhood we may not be aware of how we are with ourselves, and we may not be aware of the impact this internal relationship has on the way we feel and behave. It may be a root cause of depression, anxiety, addiction and trouble in relationships. But, there is much we can do to create greater internal comfort and confidence. Susan works together, with clients, to make sense of the problem and clarify goals. She is certified with advanced training in the use of hypnosis and EMDR which are both tools which can facilitate the recovery from trauma and the development of new internal skills.
